Experiencia de clase

NOTE: If your learner is interested in this class but there are currently no times scheduled that work for them, PLEASE reach out to me - I would be very happy to arrange a time that will work better for their schedule!

I also have a Flex version of this class available:

NOTE: Students MUST have a DSLR camera in order to participate in this course (Canon & Nikon both have many excellent models).

This 4-week course will teach students how to use the settings on their DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) camera.

Do you have a "fancy" DSLR digital camera but have just been using the Auto setting? Don't be afraid of the manual settings anymore! You can do SO MUCH MORE with your camera when you know how to use all of its tools.

In this course I will walk you through how to use your camera's settings, as well as teach you how to take better photos by improving things like composition & lighting.

Week #1:
* How to hold your camera (yes, there is a "correct" way!)
* Introduction to the Exposure Triangle
* We will talk about exposure & how important light is in photography.
* What is ISO & why might you want to adjust this setting?
* What makes a good photo composition?
Homework: Get to know your camera better. Experiment with the different tips & tools for composition that we went over in class. Submit several examples before the next week begins.

Week #2:
* We will start by taking a look at & talking about the photos that students took for their homework assignment.
* The importance of proper focus.
* We will be experimenting with your camera's Aperture Priority Mode.
* What is aperture & how does it affect your photos? What is Depth of Field?
Homework: Experiment with aperture. Submit several examples before the next week begins.

Week #3:
* We will start by taking a look at & talking about the photos that students took for their homework assignment.
* We will be experimenting with your camera's Shutter Priority Mode.
* What is shutter speed & how does it affect your photos?
Homework: Experiment with shutter speed. Submit several examples before the next week begins.

Week #4:
* We will start by taking a look at & talking about the photos that students took for their homework assignment.
* We will talk about how to take what we've learned so far and put it together to start using your camera in fully Manual mode!
