¡Conviértete en un actor shakespeariano!

In this unique course students will not only gain knowledge on Shakespeare and his works, but they will also get to try out performing his plays and sonnets!
We will start class with brief introductions to make sure all our students are comfortable with their new friends and fellow actors.  Next, we will have a quick discussion about who the infamous William Shakespeare was, where and when he lived, and his contribution to the world of theater and literature. But then comes the fun part! We will be taking a look at a variety of Shakespeare's works, such as Romeo and Juliet, The Tempest and A Midsummer Night's Dream. We will discuss the work as a whole so the students understand the plot and characters. Scenes will be provided for the students from these works and we will spend time reading and discussing them as a class. Here we will be able to learn about things such as iambic pentameter and the difference between verse and prose. Once the students begin to feel familiar with the words in front of them, it will be time for the performance! Roles will be handed out and the students will perform a final reading of our scenes and live out their dreams if being a real Shakespearean actor!
