With so many events happening in the 1600s, we needed a Part 2! In this class, we look at the non-royal happenings in London including William Shakespeare's rise to fame and the development of the theatre, Christopher Wren's architectural achievements, and amazing discoveries in science. Isaac Newton gets credit for discovering gravity, but we also learn about his not-so-nice side! Perfect for students without any background knowledge, geared to make history fun and interesting! Making the topic age-appropriate, the students will learn lots of facts, and are encouraged to take notes or make drawings to reinforce learning. At the end, a pop quiz will help students recall the facts they have learned in the class. The instructor will teach using discussion, slides, images and an interactive map. Students are encouraged to ask questions along the way.
