Class Information:

🤎 Literature

Don't judge a book by its movie! Welcome to our exciting educational program where we delve into the world of literature that has inspired captivating films. In this class, we explore books so amazing, they've been adapted into movies!

Each month, we embark on a literary adventure by immersing ourselves in one remarkable book together. Once we've completed reading the book, we gather for a special screening of its cinematic adaptation. (Parental permission will be required for participation in the film screening, and alternative activities will be provided for those who opt out.)

Following the movie screening, students engage in an enriching dialogue using digital platforms like Padlet or Jamboard. Together, we compare and contrast the literary work with its visual counterpart, exploring themes, characters, plot development, and much more.

Join us on this journey of exploration and discovery as we celebrate the magic of storytelling through both written word and film.

🤎 Writing

Welcome to an exciting educational journey where students not only learn about diverse topics but also put their knowledge into action! In this class, students will need a writing notebook as they embark on a creative writing adventure.

To ensure the quality of their submissions, a grown-up will assist students in reviewing their writing for grammar and punctuation before submitting it to the teacher for feedback. This collaborative effort helps students refine their writing skills and produce polished work.

In our class, we utilize an innovative platform called StoryJumper, where students transform into authors and bring their stories to life. With StoryJumper, students can create both physical and digital books, which are available for purchase with parental permission and assistance. Parents can securely purchase their child's books through their personal account on the platform, ensuring no information sharing takes place.

As a special incentive, the academy will provide a gift card for learners to purchase one of their published books. This encourages students to take pride in their writing accomplishments and share their creativity with the world.

Join us in this exciting adventure of storytelling and literacy development, where every student can unleash their imagination and become a published author!
