In this 4 week, twice a week, essay writing workshop, students in 4th through 6th grade will learn to write evidence based, academic, informative and opinion essays. This class is taught by a certified reading K-12 teacher.

Many kids struggle when writing essays that meets academic and testing standards, but writing an essay does not have to be a difficult task. As an instructional designer and certified teacher, I have taken the time to break down the steps needed to write an essay in a way that is easy for kids ages 8-12 years old to understand and follow along. When given a writing prompt or topic, 4th grade students will use the prescribed writing process to draft a five-paragraph essay containing an introduction, 3 body paragraphs, and a conclusion during the prescribed time of 120 minutes and using grammatically correct sentences.
