Writing Workshop: An Ongoing Practice of Writing Skills Pt. 1 (Flex Schedule)

In this course, students will practice a variety of writing styles while using proper grammar and dynamic grammar techniques.  This class will have NO LIVE MEETINGS.  Students will check in each week for a video which contains the lesson,  a PowerPoint presentation and a practice assignment.  Students will post their answers to the practice exercises and the assignment for the week in the classroom.  Students will discuss their responses to the exercises with each other and the teacher in the classroom messages. The week's  assignment is turned into the teacher before the beginning of the new week.  I will provide video feedback and evaluation.   This is not a class for struggling writers, but for students who need extra practice working on writing.  Part 1 of this class will cover the following topics:

1.  Varying Sentence Styles/Topic Sentences- Week 1
2.  Paragraph Writing- Week 2
3.  Thesis Sentence- Week 3
4.  3 Paragraph Essay- Week 4
5.  Book Reports- Week 5
6.  Five+ Paragraph Essay- Week 6

Grades will be provided on each assignment and for the course upon request.  At the end of the course, students will submit one piece of revised writing for a final evaluation.  Once the course is completed, students will have a portfolio of writing.  The next step is to take Part 2 of this course, which will dive into various types of essay writing.
