Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 11
Many students struggle with getting started when given a writing assignment and because of this their paper organization is lacking. This is why learning to write a solid thesis important and it deserves attention.

We will use our class time to define thesis, to identify the three purposes of a thesis, and to practice writing thesis statements for various writing situations. Students will see how a well developed thesis statement will drive the rest of the organization of their paper.

There will be some lecture in class for explanation but the majority of class will be application. Students do not need any required experience or knowledge to take this class. All students at all levels can benefit from learning how to write a thesis statement because not only can it be used in writing but the thought process of developing a good thesis statement can translate into better verbal communication skills as well.

I look forward to helping your student become a better writer.

Every learner in my classroom is important to me, and I want each learner to feel comfortable. I want to address the needs of each student. Therefore, if you feel your student has special needs I should take into consideration please feel free to share those with me in a message.
