Class Experience
Students will improve all essential skills of the writing process. The student will start with expository writing and end with narrative writing. In between will be argumentative and persuasive. The classes will always start with a review of the essay process, a brainstorming session of topics, reading materials, reading the prompt, reading and highlighting to the prompt, mapping, and writing the rough draft, and the final essay along with the editing process. Each essay will take approximately five sessions to complete including a bit of homework. My teaching style is to follow the child and fill in the gaps that need to be filled so they can be confident in their daily learning scenarios.
