1 hour per week. At the end of each class, students will have a new assignment that they must complete by the start of next week's class. At the start of each class, students will present their homework to the class. The length of homework will depend on the assignment and the adventure that your student has decided to create.Class Experience
Have you ever wanted to create your own adventure, but not sure how to start? Had a great idea of D&D story, but have a hard time putting thoughts to paper? Look no further than this class, where we discuss, write, and create your very own adventure for Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition. In this class we will cover basics in story telling, what makes a good D&D adventure, and how to play our adventure. Each week we will discuss new topics relating to writing an adventure, and at the end of each class students will have an assignment based on what we talked about. Week 1 - The Basics of Storytelling and D&D Adventures Week 2 - Fleshing Out Our Idea and Creating Scenes Week 3 - Filling in the Tiny Details Week 4 - Presenting our Finished Product Students should have a strong understanding of Dungeons and Dragons before taking this course. Experience being a Dungeon Master is a plus but necessary. As each class builds off the last, consistent attendance is expected. If a student misses class, it is their responsibility to watch the recording of the class they missed and still complete the homework in time for the next class.
Learning Goals
By the end of the class, students will have written their own D&D adventure.
Students will learn creative writing and the basics of storytelling.
Students will learn to use their creativity and imagination.
Students will have to present and the end of the course and gain experience in public speaking.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
D&D inherently includes fantasy violence. Please use discretion when signing your child up for my class.
Supply List
Students should have a notebook and pen/pencil in order to take notes and write their adventure in. Students may write their adventure digitally through Microsoft Word or Google Docs if they want. Other helpful material, though not necessary, are the Dungeon Master Manual, Monster Manual, or any other D&D 5e source books they may have. If you do not have any source book then check out the Essential Rule Book. It provides the basics on how to play the game and may be helpful.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a professional actor by trade, but in my spare time, I enjoy cooking, reading plays, playing Dungeons and Dragons with my friends, and now running D&D sessions on Outschool!
While my classes focus on the game, Dungeons & Dragons, there is a strong emphasis on community, support, and encouragement. Dungeons & Dragons is a great tool for students to explore their creativity, individuality, learn teamwork and problem solving skills. The goal of each of my classes is not just to have fun, but learn and practice these things in a supportive environment where all are welcome!
I have a variety of one time adventures, to multi-class stories, to on-going adventurers. We also offer courses on writing your own D&D adventures, painting miniatures for your D&D games and other tabletop games, and classes on being a Dungeon/Game Master for tabletop RPGs (TTRPGs).
