This course is designed to ignite interest in weather! An entry level course that will not bog students down with in-depth data and homework. Delivered live, students will be shown basic meteorological principals and phenomenon with an emphasis toward right brained, or "visual" learners. Being right-brained is not a requirement, just a desire to have fun with science! We'll cover how tornadoes form, what makes hurricanes so big and strong, how to read and interpret weather data and approach the science of thermodynamics using visual concepts.
Learning Goals
We will learn about high and low pressure systems and what types of weather are associated with each. We will learn about severe weather and how to identify signs that severe weather may be on the way. Finally, we'll learn how to forecast weather using actual National Weather Service data and forecast models.Other Details
Parental Guidance
I will not be discussing climate change from a political point of view. I will cover the basic concepts but will speak to both sides of the argument.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
