Class experience

The activities of this course help to develop children's listening and recall skills, fine motor control, eye-hand coordination and creativity. Children observe and follow instructions to learn new skills, such as wet felting, sewing and weaving. They experience the satisfaction of creating unique hand-crafted items that can be played with and proudly displayed.
I have been passionate about making art and crafting, my whole life. I have taught handwork to children ages 4 to 14, throughout my 30-year career as a classroom teacher, as well as online with Outschool. I have expertise in knitting, crochet, felting, machine and hand sewing, constructing with natural materials, clay modeling, weaving, and more. I have tested the projects in this course myself, and have taught most of them to children, with brilliant results!
