Class Experience
US Grade 5 - 12
During our sessions, students will develop a strong foundation in math topics, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus, depending on their grade level and individual needs. Topics will vary based on the student’s academic level and goals. Elementary & Middle School: Basic arithmetic, fractions, decimals, percentages, geometry, and pre-algebra. High School: algebra I and II, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus. Additional Support: problem-solving techniques, test preparation, and math strategies tailored to specific needs. Class Structure: I begin each session with a relatable real-life problem to show how the lesson applies to everyday situations. This helps students connect with the material and understand its practical use. I encourage students to solve the problem using their own knowledge, making it easier and more meaningful. Next, I summarize the key concepts in simple, clear terms, avoiding complicated textbook definitions. I explain only what is essential, ensuring students grasp the lesson without feeling overwhelmed. Depending on the topic, I then introduce problem-solving steps or important formulas needed to tackle questions. Finally, we work through a variety of problems together. This allows me to identify struggles and offer guidance without the student having to point them out, ensuring personalized support. Teaching Style: My teaching is interactive, supportive, and encouraging. I aim to create a comfortable environment where learners feel free to ask questions and explore math concepts without fear of mistakes. I push students to think critically and approach problems confidently. The focus is on making learning accessible, relatable, and enjoyable. Students will have extensive opportunities for interaction through: One-on-One Discussions: Personalized guidance during sessions. Guided Practice: Step-by-step problem-solving together. Q&A Time: Open discussions where students can clarify doubts. Interactive Exercises: Engaging activities tailored to reinforce concepts.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a strong background in math from my studies in mechanical biomedical engineering, focusing on topics like algebra, calculus, and geometry. Throughout my coursework, I often helped peers with complex topics, which helped me improve my ability to explain difficult concepts clearly and simply. I have over four years of experience tutoring math privately to students from elementary to college levels, both online and in person. My interactive teaching style focuses on problem-solving, building confidence, and developing critical thinking skills. I'm proud to say that I have helped most of my students improve their math marks and gain confidence.
Short story: one of my students that I used to tutor for more than 2 years is now in his first year of engineering.
