Homework
1-2 hours per week. Homework based on the topic(s) of the day. Homework will be checked at the beginning of each class.Class Experience
US Grade 9 - 12
Beginner - Advanced Level
Here is a list of just some of the subject areas and topics that are taught in math: fractions, decimals, percents, ratio and proportion, algebra (e.g. exponent laws, factoring), geometry (e.g. formulas for perimeter, area and volume of geometrical figures), trigonometry (e.g. sine, cosine, tangent, unit circle), calculus (e.g. limits, derivatives, integrals). Some sample subject areas and topics in physics: mechanics (e.g. displacement, velocity, acceleration, forces, free body diagrams), work and energy, electricity and magnetism, modern physics (e.g. relativity, quantum physics). The class will be structured in three parts: one part for teaching of concepts, another part for instructor-solved examples, and the last part allows the student to showcase what they've learned by solving practice problems independently. My teaching style is learner-centered. I'm very patient with the student learner. Students will get to interact with me via discussions and questions as much as they need.

Parental Guidance
Tools like desmos, youtube and hyperphysics will be used to access simulations and demonstrations of math and physics concepts. No account is required for these websites. Furthermore, wikipedia, mathsisfun and IXL learning are websites that could potentially be used to augment information for topics being taught.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! I am very passionate about math and physics. It is my goal to instill that love and passion for those subject areas into my students. I am a learner-oriented teacher who listens and responds to students' needs and styles of learning. Furthermore, I am very patient with my students and never, ever belittle them when they are having a tough time understanding concepts or ideas. I teach all levels of math (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, calculus) and even college/university level math. I teach all levels of physics as well, from basic mechanics and dynamics all the way to quantum mechanics. I also teach college/university level physics topics that have more of a calculus approach to them. I have 17 years experience teaching math and science topics 1-on-1 at a private learning center. I have a Bachelor of Science (4 yr) degree from the Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Bachelor of Education teaching degree from the University of Manitoba.
