Class Description: In this comprehensive and personalized math tutoring program for students in grades 2-6, learners will embark on a journey to master fundamental math concepts while developing a genuine enthusiasm for the subject. The class is designed to meet each student at their current level, with a curriculum that covers key topics such as basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), fractions, decimals, and early problem-solving techniques. As students progress, they will also explore more advanced concepts such as geometry, measurement, and introductory algebra, ensuring a well-rounded mathematical foundation. Class Experience: This class is structured to provide a highly interactive and supportive learning experience that adapts to the needs of each student. Each session begins with a quick recap of previously covered material to reinforce retention and build confidence. New topics are introduced through a variety of engaging methods, including interactive slides, educational video clips, and real-life examples that make abstract concepts tangible and relatable. The teaching approach is dynamic and student-centred, combining direct instruction with hands-on activities and collaborative problem-solving exercises. Lessons are designed to be flexible, allowing students to take the time they need to fully understand each concept before moving on. Visual aids, such as number lines, charts, and diagrams, are frequently used to help students visualize problems and solutions, catering to diverse learning styles. A significant portion of the class is dedicated to interactive practice, where students engage in activities and games designed to reinforce the concepts learned. These activities not only solidify understanding but also make learning math enjoyable and rewarding. Students will have the opportunity to participate in group discussions, ask questions, and work on problems both independently and collaboratively, fostering a sense of community and shared learning. Throughout the course, I place a strong emphasis on individualized attention. Each student receives tailored feedback and support, whether they are working through challenging problems or excelling at the material. I am committed to creating an inclusive and encouraging environment where every student feels confident in their ability to succeed in math.
Learning Goals
Develop Mastery of Core Math Skills: Students will build a strong understanding of basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. These skills will serve as the foundation for more complex mathematical concepts
Explore Advanced Mathematical Concepts: As students progress, they will delve into topics such as fractions, decimals, geometry, measurement, and introductory algebra, providing a well-rounded mathematical education.

With over a decade of experience in math education, I have dedicated myself to helping students in grades 2-6 build a solid foundation in mathematics. My journey as an educator has been deeply rooted in personalized, one-on-one instruction, where I have accumulated more than 350 hours of direct, individualized tutoring. This extensive experience has equipped me with a profound understanding of the diverse learning styles and challenges that elementary students encounter when navigating math.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with a wide spectrum of learners, from those who find basic arithmetic challenging to those eager to explore more advanced mathematical concepts. My teaching philosophy is centered on the belief that every student has the potential to excel in math with the right guidance and support. I employ a variety of teaching strategies, including visual aids, hands-on activities, and real-world examples, to ensure that each student fully comprehends and retains the material.
I am particularly skilled at identifying the unique strengths and areas for improvement in each student. This allows me to tailor my lessons to their individual needs, whether they require additional practice to master fundamental concepts or need enrichment activities to challenge and engage them. My approach is characterized by patience, creativity, and a deep commitment to fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment.
In addition to my practical teaching experience, I continuously seek to expand my knowledge of effective teaching methods and educational psychology. This ongoing professional development ensures that I remain current with the latest research and best practices in math education, allowing me to provide the highest quality instruction to my students.
Ultimately, my goal is not just to help students succeed in math, but to inspire a lifelong love for learning. I strive to make math relatable and enjoyable, empowering students to approach the subject with confidence and curiosity.
