Each week in this ongoing class, students will work to become skilled writers though regular writing and exploration of various topics such as writing identity, generating ideas, composing, organization, grammar and punctuation.

In this ongoing class, each week students will learn about various topics within writing and create a new piece of writing. The goal of this class is to help students become confident and skilled writers through regular writing and focused exercises. Each week we will explore a new topic related to writing with focused exercises in the following areas: Class will typically be structured in the following format: 1) Checking in with each student and introductions 2) Weekly Word...
Students will experiment with writing topics. Students will be able to sequence events. Students will be able to organize writing. Students will be able to recall correct grammar and punctuation rules. Students will discover their individual writing identity. Students will be able draft weekly writing assignments.
I am a homeschool mom to 3 children, all of various writing abilities. With each of my children, I've found an incremental approach to writing to be the least intimidating and provided the most confidence in the writing process. Additionally, I am currently a graduate level student earning my masters in teaching English.
Homework Offered
Students may need time beyond the live meeting to finish their writing. However, no additional homework will be assigned.Assessments Offered

Some weeks students may need to bring a worksheet to class. If this is required, it will be announced in the classroom at least 24 hours before class and the document will be provided.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
