Assessment
There are a variety of ways that students could be assessed in this class. Some common methods include: -Writing assignments: Students can be assigned to write essays, stories, poems, or other types of writing on a variety of topics. The teacher can then assess the students' writing based on criteria such as grammar, punctuation, spelling, organization, and content. -Quizzes and tests: Students can be given quizzes and tests to assess their knowledge of specific writing concepts and skills. For example, a student might be given a quiz on the different types of sentences or a test on how to write a persuasive essay. -Self-assessment: Students can be asked to assess their own writing and reflect on their progress. This can be done using a rubric or other assessment tool. -Portfolio: Students can create a portfolio of their writing to demonstrate their progress over the course of the class. This can include a variety of writing assignments, such as essays, stories, poems, and quizzes.

I teach the class using a variety of methods, including:

-Lecture
-Discussion
-Writing exercises
-Student and teacher conferring
-Videos
-Exemplars
-Modeling

My teaching style is interactive and collaborative. I believe that students learn best by doing, so I provide plenty of opportunities for students to write and share their work. I also believe that feedback is essential for learning, so I encourage students to reflect and receive feedback on their work.

Students will have a variety of opportunities to interact with me in class. I encourage students to ask questions and participate in discussions. I provide feedback to students on their work. I'll also have other students their age provide feedback.

No prior experience or knowledge is required for this class. However, students should be interested in writing and have a willingness to learn.
