A six-week theatre course for beginning actors with little to no experience that will allow them to grow in their skills and build confidence through improv games, monologue practice, and more!

 Week 1
Lesson 1
Stage Presence 101
We will discuss the basics of stage presence. This includes facial expressions, using our voice, using our body, and reading with expression. This allows for learners to understand the basics of stage performing.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Getting Into Character
We will discuss strategies for getting into character and connecting with difficult characters by analyzing our favorite shows/movies. I will give an example of how I would break this process down and give myself permission to become somebody else for the scene.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Intro to Script Reading
We will discuss methods to reading scripts and practice different monologues, including practicing multiple kinds of characters, including a villain!
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Intro to Improvisation
We will learn the basics of improv acting and discuss the rules. Students will receive a list of scene ideas they can practice with their friends/family to gain a better understanding on this concept.
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Memorizing and Auditioning Tips
We will perform different monologues and discuss the process of memorization and auditions.
 Week 6
Lesson 6
3 Types of Characters
We will discuss the three different types of characters which will help learners be able to differentiate and understand the difference whenever they have a favorite character! There will be a fun quiz attached to the pdf students can try to see if they understand the 3 different types and how to act as them!
