Having a solid foundation in Language Arts is critical. The aim of this class is to help students effectively communicate their ideas and their thoughts to a classroom of their peers. Students will: (1) Be assigned a paragraph to edit according to the conventions of standard English (spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and usage) and (2) Present the changes made to their assigned material to the class. Students will be able to identify and correct errors in a paragraph. Students will be able to explain corrected errors in a class discussion.
There is no homework for this class.
I will provide students with a paragraph to edit in class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The learner will be assessed informally through observation of class participation and by their ability to correct grammar mistakes in a paragraph.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
