What is exactly taught during the lessons? Natural Hand Positioning Implementing good piano technique is vital early on in a pianist’s training. Healthy piano technique is executed with use of the whole entire body in the most natural and relaxing manner. Note Reading Being able to read piano notes is essential for understanding and playing music accurately. It allows you to quickly identify the pitch and duration of each note, enabling you to translate sheet music into beautiful melodies. Ear Training Children learn words after hearing them spoken hundreds of times by others. Listening to music every day is important, especially listening to repertoire you are currently learning, so the student knows them immediately. Theory Studying theory will help build your ability to match written notes with piano keys at a glance. Knowing the names of chords, notes, key signature and so-forth will help form a bridge between your fingers and your brain. Rhythm Rhythm is to recognize the patterns of sound in time, so you know when to play each note and how long to hold it for. Solfege Solfege provides a framework for melodies by establishing recognizable relationships between pitches (do-re-mi) and training your ear to hear patterns. It is an excellent system for learning music and enhances the concept of ear training. Composition As students, most musicians start to explore the idea of writing their own musical compositions. Learning to write an original piano pieces will allow you to share your creativity to the world. Lesson Structure: 1:00-2:00 mins. How are you? What's new? Any questions with your practicing? 4:00-5:00 mins Technique/warming-up 5:00 mins. Note Reading 10:00 mins Suzuki Repertoire 3:00 mins Lesson plan wrap-up /Theory assignment My teaching style is based around visual (note reading) and auditory (inner ear-training) using the Suzuki method in correlation with my curriculum. We will play clapback rhythm games with fun food names, listen to great composers and much more!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Welcome! I believe that students of all backgrounds should have access to quality music instruction. My professional teaching style and curriculum choice is what makes excellent well-rounded young musicians. For those new to music, piano is an excellent instrument to start with as it helps build a foundation in musicality without major limitations in developing sound, tone or intonation.
With an emphasis in classical style and a vast repertoire to choose from, my piano students can study a wide variety of styles.
Studying piano performance began at the age of eight, have studied Alexander Technic and Piano Performance at West Chester University. Course Completion for: Piano Pedagogy, Suzuki, Early Childhood Music Education, Russian Piano Technic and Taubman Approach
My passion for music education is extremely serious. “I feel that music education is a way to help the community, by giving children the assistance to explore their freedom of expression through music”. The improvement and progression gives sense of satisfaction given to the students…turning basic one finger melodies into beautiful music. My most love of all is giving them the opportunity to transfer their hard work into an exquisite performances.
Here are some fun hobbies I like to do besides teaching piano: hanging out with friends and family, biking, vacationing, fishing and going on long walks!
