Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Learners will be able to learn the most common sound-spelling relationships so that they can decode, or sound out words. They will be able to learn letter-sound recognition so that they can blend letters and sounds to read a complete word. They will be able to identify different objects, spell the word that names each object, sound out, or read the complete word. Learners will be able to follow along during reading and repeat simple sentences. I believe that phonics and decoding abilities are crucial elements in reading success. Students will learn the following skills:

I don't assign homework.
Informal Assessment
1. Observations during instructions
2. Questions and Answers during modeling and direct instructions
3. Reading/Comprehension after reading a story. (students read questions and answer orally)
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
