Beginner - Intermediate Level
Students will learn how to become effective writers and make writing an essay fun and engaging. The class is structured into a semester course that meets twice per week. The course will go over English concepts such as grammar, sentence types, context clues, reading comprehension, and homophones to improve writing skills. Additionally, this class will educate students on how to write effective essays through brainstorming, outlining, drafting as essay, and editing. In each class, students will learn about essay concepts in addition to general English concepts like the ones mentioned above. There will be in-class activities and homework to help students practice each concept. Students will be able to learn in a fun and interactive environment. Lastly, each student will have the opportunity to write a full essay for this course.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of the English language and reading comprehension to become more skilled writers. Students will learn concepts such as grammar, sentence types, context clues, reading comprehension, and homophones to improve writing skills. Additionally, students will learn brainstorming techniques, how to create a template for their essays to carry out the actual writing of their content, and will learn how to effectively edit their papers by learning strategies for the editing phase.Other Details
