Students will learn the essential concepts of ELA/writing for the California Smarter Balanced test in a fun and engaging environment. They will interact with the teacher via video and chat in addition to course materials being attached to the platform for reference. The class is structured to meet once per week and will go over the specific needs within the writing process for each student. There will be an in-class activity tailored to the needs of each student in relation to the essay writing process. Some of the topics that will be discussed are active reading strategies, brainstorming, outlining, writing, and editing an essay. These are all essential concepts for ELA questions and when writing an essay. The activities will work on improving their ELA and essay-writing skills. Each session will be tailored to the individual student to ensure learning needs are met. Learners will be engaged directly one-on-one with me to get a tailored experience with direct feedback. There is no required experience learners need. This is a recurring private class where learners can get the most out of how to write/edit an essay.
