In this one-time class students will take turns playing a Mario memory math game which will provide an introduction into correct pronunciation of fractions (e.g. one half, three fourths etc.) and learning about fraction pies as well as how to understand them. This class offers a way to teach the beginning concepts of fractions in a fun, relaxed kind of way. While individually taking turns to identify pairs, students will also have the opportunity to work together and help each other learn. ...
Students will learn/practice/review how to correctly pronounce/identify fractions and read fraction pies while also flexing their memory muscles. They will learn how to encourage each other and how to participate in team based problem solving. They will also be able to share to the group about their favorite characters and/or games enhancing their group speaking skills.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
