SUMMER BREAK SESSION In this summer novel studies class we will be reading two novels. The first novel will be A Wrinkle in Time by Time by Madeleine L’Engle. The second novel will be Turtle Boy by M. Evan Wolkenstein. During class we will engage in discussions about retelling content, identifying themes, deconstructing characters, making inferences and predictions, vocabulary skills, as well as practicing visualization. In order to accomplish our summer comprehension goals, students will have in-between class assignments for reading specific chapters. There is also an optional (parent approved) set of comprehension questions to be answered in writing between classes. All students, whether writing out answers or not will have a set of questions to review between classes. This will allow us to dive deeper into our class discussions.
