Want to jump-start your writing skills? Love to write or have trouble getting started? Either way, you will have fun completing these all-star writing challenges. Come collaborate and share your ideas with new friends as we practice different types of writing! Each week students will meet to complete a different writing project. Then students will have an opportunity to share their creative ideas with their classmates. Students will receive a writing activity each week that we will work on in class. We will cover the four main types of writing: narrative, opinion, informative, and descriptive. In this class, students will also complete additional writing projects such as: friendly letters, book reports, summary writing, and response to text. Students are welcome to join in the fun at any time or attend all year for lots of creative fun!! Our class meeting will start with social time for each student to discuss the new project with their classmates. I will facilitate a positive and encouraging environment where students will feel comfortable sharing their ideas. Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Blue Mountain University
Hi! My name is Andrea and I love teaching! I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary education which I have used in many different environments, from elementary and special education classrooms to homeschooling my own three children. I have spent time teaching and volunteering at homeschool co-op groups. Currently I am teaching ESL in an online classroom. Regardless of the classroom format, I enjoy helping children learn and reach their full potential!
Your student will have fun learning in my classroom! I enjoy teaching with lots of interactive games and teamwork! We will work on important foundational skills in my favorite subjects; reading and language arts. I want to help your student to become an independent learner by asking thoughtful questions and finding creative solutions.
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my husband and three children ages 14, 11, and 9. We love to read together, take walks, and play soccer.
