Stories and Doodles: Interactive Reading Practice and Drawing Fun!
Students will listen to a read aloud story, while being asked interactive questions along the way. They will create a corresponding doodle with me to show off what they read through art + creativity! This develops fine motor skills!

Beginner - Intermediate Level
- This is a 30 minute weekly class that meets once a week. - In this class, learners will be taught by Miss Macey. They will explore creative arts through books and arts and crafts! - Each class will consist of a short story time from a book, then a doodle that goes along with the book. For example: if we read a book about a cow, we will draw a cow after our story! - While reading the story, learners will be asked various questions to work on literary analysis skills. Phonological awareness may be practiced as well, tailoring the need to each student. - This class will develop critical thinking skills, fine motor skills, confidence, expression, and lots of fun! - My class is a great fit for students PreK-4th, as it is flexible when it comes to age. Your learner will need simple supplies like paper, and your choice of colored pencils, crayons, or markers! - Beginners will thrive in this class. There is no experience or prior knowledge required!
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to understand stories, text, and books as well as create/draw a piece of art that goes along with the read aloud! Phonological awareness, comprehension, and critical thinking will take place in my class as well as creativity & art!

A piece of paper and your choice of coloring utensil: colored pencils, markers, crayons, etc to complete our drawing artwork!

Hi! My name is Macey Martin. I have clinical experience as a student teacher, substitute teacher, tutor, and dance instructor in public school settings. I have worked at a dance studio, babysat, and been in the classroom, so I have lots of experience with students of every age and setting! My experience with children started about 5 years ago when I was 16, babysitting, and has grown ever since. I’m now attending college to get my dual degree in Early Childhood & Elementary Education, and will be graduating next year!
