Soaring Scribes: Beginner Writing Techniques Level 3

This is the third and final class in a three part series to cover formal writing techniques for beginners.  *Learners must have completed Levels 1 and 2 or have permission from the teacher.*  Students will learn how to take notes with key word outlines, write their own fables from outlines, and author narrative stories with story sequence charts.  Not only will students gain foundational writing skills, but they will also explore stylistic elements to embellish their original works. 

Additionally, students will have the chance to improve their public speaking by presenting both oral reports from key word outlines and written works in a small, encouraging group.  Likewise, students will also have the opportunity to gain audience listening skills while providing constructive feedback to their classmates based on writing techniques covered in class.

*Students are expected to be independent readers to be successful in this class.  No prior writing instruction is necessary.  Students with some beginner writing experience who would like to gain a formal writing process will also benefit from this class.
