During this course, students will learn how to design and draw a realistic cat. By the end of the class, students will be able to understand how to draw the outline of a cat head and/ or body as well as how to draw fur. I will be showing students diagrams of cat anatomy and drawing along with the students so they can observe pictures as well as have someone to practice with. Depending on what the majority of students want to create we will either work with the full body or just the head when it comes to drawing the final animal.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the basics of cats anatomy and how to draw a realistic cat.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from University of Wyoming
Hello,
My name is Ms. Elizabeth Suriani, and I am a full-time artist from Northern Colorado. I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a minor in Art History in 2016. While at the University of Wyoming I primarily studied 2D art style, including oil painting and print making. I also studied in Florence, Italy during the fall of 2015 where I studied architectural and figurative drawing, as well as fresco restoration.
Since 2015 I have been teaching art and art history to students ranging from ages 5-17 years old with lessons ranging from basic instructions, all the way to advanced classes and color theory for older students. I love teaching art and am currently teaching two international students in Italy and Thailand.
I have recently returned home from teaching English as a second language in Bangkok, Thailand with students aging from 2-16 years old. I loved working with my students and miss them dearly.
On top of being a full-time artist, I have also started my own jewelry business, as well as teaching English Language to children in China!
When teaching, I love to keep things fun and light. I believe that seriousness doesn’t do a young mind any good when learning art at an early age, it tends to discourage them instead. I want to help my students find art or anything they are passionate about and feel like they have a space to ask questions, experiment, and flourish.
I can’t wait to see you in class!
