Minecraft requires players to break massive projects into smaller manageable tasks and work to achieve them while overcoming obstacles. In this class, we will use discussion, Minecraft examples, videos, and slides to learn how to accomplish real-life goals by breaking them into manageable steps. For example, we will compare beating the Ender Dragon to improving your math grade or building your basketball skills. We will not be playing Minecraft in this class, but this class is Minecraft-themed and uses a lot of Minecraft examples. This class is very interactive, and students will discuss Minecraft and share what goals they would like to achieve. Students will need to have an interest in learning to set and meet goals.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I appreciate your interest in my classes. I've been homeschooling my children for ten years and taught many group classes in K-7th History, Science, and 4th grade. I incorporated study skills in my courses because having good study skills can make learning much more enjoyable. I'm passionate about helping my students develop, and grow, a love of learning. Therefore, I work to make my classes engaging utilizing Minecraft, gifs, short Youtube videos, and other tools. My courses are on study skills and improving executive functioning. I have a BA in English from the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at ASU. I am also finishing my certification for teaching Mindfulness to children.
