Class Experience

Learners will be taught a song each week. Over the semester, we will cover note reading, rhythm counting, musical intervals, scales, and dynamics with fun games and a slideshow sent to each learner's Outscshool email so practicing can continue during the week between classes.
We will be progressing through songs at a pace of one song per week. Students who practice the songs between classes will have a repertoire of many songs by the end of the semester. Recommended practice time is 15 minutes per practice, four or five times between classes. If a class is missed, the recording will be available on our classroom page and the slideshow will still be updated with the new song.
Learners will get access to a class slideshow with the songs and instructions updated weekly for practicing. Learners will need a keyboard or piano and paper and pencil. It is important that learners can see the class slideshow on their device during classtime. The new music will be displayed on the screen during class and emailed to students after class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There is no assessment in this class.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
