Week 1Lesson 1Draw a Realistic Human EyeIn this one-time drawing class, students will learn and practice basic drawing skills as they apply to the shape, depth, contour and textures in the human eye, using only a pencil and eraser. We will practice shading with our pencils from very light to very dark, analyze the shapes, shades, details and textures of the eye, including the eyelid, lashes, veins, the fibrous material that makes up the iris, the deep black of the pupil, and of course, how to create the appearance of a reflection.
As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
Students will need: Paper (drawing paper is great; sketchbook, or even printer paper will work! Pencil, eraser, pencil sharpener Black Sharpie Choice of coloring tools: colored pencils, crayons, watercolor pencils, or markers
