Description
Class Experience
Students will be introduced to and learn how to use the research - based comprehension skill known as schema. They will make be given the tools to make connections to text on a deeper level. This should help allow them to access and retain information, whether from fiction or non-fiction text.
I will send each learner several pdf pieces to work with.
1 file available upon enrollmentStudents are welcome to bring a piece of text, fiction or non-fiction to allow us to examine and make connections as a group.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will look at portions of fiction text as well as smaller chunks of non-fiction text.
