Saving Seeds: Continue Your Garden Legacy
Learn how to identify, harvest, and save seeds from your garden! In this course, we will talk about the science of seeds, why plants need them, and how they travel.
Class experience
Students will extend their gardening skills by learning to keep the seeds from their very own flowers, herbs, and vegetables. We will discuss the structure of the seed, how seeds are made, and why some plants don't seem to have seeds. My class will take place in my own garden. Students can complete the course outside or in. I will begin by reading the class "A Seed is Sleepy" by Dianna Hutts Aston and Sylvia Long. Then the students will get a "seed tour" of my garden space, followed by a...
