Saving Seeds: Continue Your Garden Legacy

Learn how to identify, harvest, and save seeds from your garden! In this course, we will talk about the science of seeds, why plants need them, and how they travel.

Class Experience

> Students will understand the basic life cycle of a seed bearing plant
> Students will be able to recognize the structures and functions of a seed
> Students will know how and why to save their own seeds
Masters Degree in Urban Environmental Education
12+ years working with elementary aged students
6+ years working with youth in learning gardens
Dried seed pods- at least one from at least one plant. Easy-to-collect seeds include: peas, radishes, carrots, calendula, and beans. Contact me if you would like assistance. Printer paper- as many sheets as you have dried seed pods Tape or a glue stick Writing utensil
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
