SUMMARY: This is a Part 3 of 3 of a Semester-long Starter Russian language course for children who are just starting to learn Russian and have little to no prior experience. Contact me, if you are unsure what level your child is. To be enrolled in Part 3, you need to successfully complete Part 1 and 2. In this course, children will be speaking, reading and writing in Russian from the start. Children will have opportunities for speaking in Russian: together with the teacher, as a class, while working in pairs, and while playing games. Children will read short dialogues and words: in the Textbook, during classroom games, while completing tasks in their workbooks. Children will practice writing during classroom games and while completing tasks in their workbooks. Students will get exposed to proper grammar and will be encouraged to use it properly. COURSE PROGRESSION: 1. This class ----> Russian Language Course for STARTERS: Speaking, Reading and Writing. Next courses in the series: 2. Russian Language Course for BEGINNERS: Speaking, Reading and Writing. 3. Russian Language Course for INTERMEDIATE I: Speaking, Reading, Writing. 4. Russian Language Course for INTERMEDIATE II: Speaking, Reading, Writing. (You learner may skip some courses if he/she can pass the entrance test: speaking, reading and writing. Entrance test may take an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes. Testing is done through my one-time tutoring class for $20 per each test). TEXTBOOK AND WORKBOOK: The hard copies of the Textbook and the Workbook could be obtained on Amazon and the electronic versions of the Textbook and the Workbook could be obtained on the author's website. If you are buying the electronic version, please, print the entire workbook as we will be working with it in class. All Textbooks come with audio files for additional studying. Occasionally, the teacher will send additional printouts for classroom use. Please note, that all Starter classes ( Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 - which is this class) use the same Textbook and Workbook. CLASS PARTICIPATION and POLICY: - Annotation: This class also uses the Annotation Tool in Zoom. When the teacher shares the screen and asks children to circle or find objects or write on the whiteboard, go to the Zoom's tool bar, select "More", and choose "Annotate" option. - Video: At the beginning of each class, according to the Outschool policy, all learners must turn their cameras on to be verified by the teacher. Students benefit more from this class by keeping their camera on at all times. It allows the teacher and other learners to track facial expressions and to establish good connection and communication. We share our work and play games that require learners to keep their video on. - Audio and Microphones: In this class we will speak a lot and practice speaking. I encourage everyone to keep their mics on. (I will occasionally mute some or all students if they have a background noise). -Cancellation: If there are less than 3 students enrolled in a particular section it will be postponed or cancelled. - Distractions: We all want our children to engage in learning, have fun and make friends. Please, ensure that your child is focused on the class and is not distracted by anything that can rob them of the learning experience. COURSE'S CONTENT: This course is 24 weeks longs. This course consists of 3 parts for easier scheduling, payment and rest breaks. This class is Part 3 of 3. Each part of the course is several weeks long with a Review and a Quiz at the end. This Part 3 consists of 8 weeks. Each week has 2 meetings. Each week has a new topic and weeks build on each other. See the Syllabus for more information. Привет, ребята!
Меня зовут Miss Tanya and I am a native Russian speaker.
I teach Russian language Courses for English speakers: 1 set of Courses for learners 8-13 years old, and another set of Courses for teenagers 13-18 years old. Learners can start from absolute 0 and progress through the Course series to higher-Intermediate and Advanced Levels.
I also teach additional Russian language classes and help students in private classes.
My lessons with Outschool learners tend to be very structured and each activity has its purpose. Though I consider myself to be a calm individual, I receive a lot of feedback from parents and learners that my lessons are fun and engaging. It brings me joy seeing learners progress and learn something new.
I have a vast teaching background working in daycare, public schools, private school, church, winter and summer camps, and with in-home tutoring students. I worked with children as young as 1 year old and as old as 17!
I have earned two years towards BA in Elementary Education from Moscow State Pedagogical University (МПГУ), in Russia. Then I moved from Russia and finished my education in the United States. I hold an AA in Elementary Education (Community College of Aurora, CO) and a BA in Education with Emphasis on Elementary Math (MSU Denver, CO). I have worked at Denver Public Schools for 3 years. And now I teach on Outschool.
I love reading books, learning new languages (I am primarily learning Spanish), playing musical instruments (cello is my favorite), and making delicious vegetarian meals for my family.
My office hours are (in EST/US-New York):
Monday and Wednesday: 9 AM-7 PM
Tuesday and Thursday: 9 AM-3 PM
I often reply to messages and requests outside of my office hours, but if you notice that I read your message and have not replied to it yet, I will message you back as soon as I can.
