In this ongoing class children will review Russian letters, blend sounds, read syllables and short words as well as simple sentences. We will practice speaking Russian and will learn new words.
Class experience
This ongoing class is for bilingual children who speak Russian at home and English at school. If your child knows Russian alphabet (preferably sounds of the letters), has basic Russian vocabulary and is able to speak in short sentences in Russian, then he/she will benefit from this class. Children will: -review letters and sounds -develop phonemic awareness -develop reading skills -practice small motor skills (writing skills) -speak using active vocabulary -acquire new vocabulary -develop critical thinking -listen to Russian poems and songs -be exposed to Russian culture through traditional Russian fairy-tale and cartoon characters

-a few pages of fun activities (to review the material) * For some classes there will be cards to print and cut to use in class. Alternatively, I may ask to bring a specific toy or item for the upcomig class.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
