Intermediate Level
In this Roblox Social Club, learners will work together in a safe, encouraging environment to play Roblox Tower Heroes together. Each week we will, as a class, choose a mode and map to work on together. The number of run-throughs we are able to complete will depend on our success and failure. Emphasis will be placed on teamwork and good sportsmanship. This class will be learner-led so that learners have a sense of ownership in which modes we play. We will also focus on helping newer learners build their team of towers and on completing special events. As a teacher, I am laidback and encourage learners to interact with one another in a positive and polite manner. I look forward to gaming with your learners!
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Roblox Tower Heroes is a tower defense game that involves, to a minor degree, violence toward enemy monsters. There is mild weaponry with cartoon violence, including guns and lasers.
Because the use of private servers is required for this class, learners are required to share their Roblox username (gamer tag) with the teacher via private message in order to participate in class. Learners are asked not to share their gamer tags in the Outschool classroom.
Pre-Requisites
Learners should have some experience with Roblox and, preferably, with at least some form of tower defense game within Roblox.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a degree in Spanish Education (K-12) with a current teaching license in the state of Oklahoma. I have always enjoyed exploring new languages and cultures. I have studied six foreign languages to varying degrees and have a passion to share an appreciation for other cultures and their languages with children.
I have been teaching since 2006 in a variety of settings, including public school, small private classes, homeschool and online tutoring. My own four children - ranging in ages from 6-12 years old - have given me plenty of experience with teaching children and keeping them engaged and excited about the world around them.
I have traveled to eight foreign countries on four different continents and have even taken my oldest daughter to four of those countries! In our home, we strive to look at life through a global lens, which I feel provides important perspective on appreciating the views of others.
I believe learning should be engaging, cooperative, and sometimes a little silly. Learning a new language requires vulnerability, space to make mistakes and a lot of encouragement. It gives us the opportunity to be child-like in our approach to being a beginner while also giving us the tools to eventually have real-life conversations in someone else's native tongue.
Communication isn't just about letters and sounds - it's about understanding someone else. Language is the biggest stepping stone to truly open communication with other cultures. Let's learn together!
