Beginner Level
In this course, students will learn how to create custom maps for their Roblox games using the Terrain Editor and other environmental tools. They will explore how to generate maps, edit terrain, and adjust lighting and sky settings to improve the look and feel of their game. Some experience with Roblox Studio is required.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to design and customize maps for Roblox games by effectively using the Terrain Editor and related tools to create unique landscapes and environments.Students will gain proficiency in modifying lighting and sky settings to enhance the visual appeal and atmosphere of their Roblox game maps.Syllabus

This lesson explains how to use the Baseplate as a place to begin your map design. Lesson 2:
Map Generation
This lesson explains how to use the tools in the Terrain Editor to generate a map. Lesson 3:

Gamer tags are NOT shared in this course. Roblox games are not played in this course. This is a video game design course.
Parental Guidance is advised for students under 13 when accessing the internet and when downloading and installing programs such as Roblox Studio. Roblox Studio is a free program that should only be downloaded from the official Roblox site. www.roblox.com/create. Roblox Studio requires a Roblox account.
Roblox Studio requires an internet connection. Roblox Studio cannot be used offline/without internet.
Pre-Requisites
Experience using a computer is required. Experience using Roblox Studio is required for this course. This course builds on your existing knowledge about making games in Roblox Studio.
Supply List
I strongly recommend using a computer mouse. Roblox Studio is required for the class and can be downloaded directly from the Roblox site: https://www.roblox.com/create Experience using Roblox Studio is required for this course. Important notice: Chromebooks, tablets, smartphones, consoles (Nintendo switch, PlayStation, Xbox etc.) are NOT compatible with Roblox Studio, the program used in this class. A Windows/Mac computer is REQUIRED for this class. Roblox Studio only works on a Windows or Mac computer. A computer mouse is strongly encouraged but not required. Roblox Studio is very difficult to use without a computer mouse. Roblox Studio is not designed to be used with touchscreen. You need a computer keyboard. A Roblox account is needed to use Roblox Studio. If your child plays Roblox games, it means your child has an account associated with Roblox. The same account info is used to log into Roblox Studio.
