This class is a follow-up to any of our Reading Spanish is Easy classes or for any student who has already learned how to read in Spanish. Each week, students will take turns reading a short fictional or non-fiction story in Spanish only. The stories used are from Reading A-Z levels D, E, and F which corresponds to Lexile 160L-450L. Stories contain 8-10 pages total, with maximum 20 words per sentence, and approximately 70-125 words per story. With a maximum of 4 students, each student will have the opportunity to read at least two pages out loud. Throughout the class, the teacher will help guide students through the correct pronunciation, and in the end, the teacher will read the entire story. While this class does not focus on vocabulary, learners should be able to easily understand the stories through illustrations and familiar words. If time permits, students will discuss what the story is about and what some word means. However, this is not a vocabulary class.
