Class Experience

Beginner - Advanced Level
"Congratulations, you're an adult! You have your own job, your own home, and make your own rules! You have your life all figured out, but how will you handle when unexpected life events happen?"

In this personalized 1:1 class, learners will have the opportunity to craft their adulting journey from the very beginning. During our first class, they will select their own job, goal, and research the housing they would like (if applicable). As they navigate through the game, they will encounter customized options for expenses tailored to their preferences and choices.

The first class will be dedicated to personalizing the game experience. The teacher will ask questions to understand the learner's desired job, goals, preferred housing, and expenses, while researching things like pay and expenses in their area. Within 72 hours after the first class, the personalized printable board game will be sent to the learner. Subsequent classes will revolve around playing this customized game, focusing on the learner's specific financial learning objectives. The learner can choose to play using the physical board game they own or participate online, where the teacher will screen share the game board and manage the game pieces on their behalf.

During the game, learners will make decisions about expenses, avoid "unexpected events," and manage their money and credit just like in real life.

Optional money management and credit lessons will be offered after playing at least one round of the game. The optional lessons include but are not limited to:
Setting S.M.A.R.T. Goals
How to Create a Budget
The Importance of Savings and How to Save
How to Properly Use Credit
and more!

This allows learners to apply their newly acquired knowledge immediately and reinforce their understanding of financial concepts. The lessons will be tailored to the specific needs and goals of the learner. Even without the optional lessons, if a learner just wants to just play their personalized game, those lessons are woven into the game in a practical sense.
Learning Goals
Students will develop the ability to make informed decisions about their finances, including managing income, expenses, and unexpected events, similar to real-life scenarios.
Students will gain an understanding of job selection, including the process of researching and choosing a career based on personal goals, pay, and location-specific expenses.
