Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
The foundational skills of language and literacy will be taught to ensure that your learners become competent readers. Therefore, we will cover phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, listening, speaking, and writing. The sessions are geared toward K-3 learners and therefore numerous art-inspired presentations such as; puppetry, songs, nursery rhymes and poems will be incorporated. The approach allows learners to acquire a wealth of information and a well-rounded approach to building language and literacy skills. In addition, interactive read-alouds will be performed regularly, which promotes the following:

Read-alouds are incredibly valuable for young learners, providing numerous benefits that contribute to their cognitive and language development. Here are five key benefits:

Vocabulary Expansion: Hearing new words in context helps children understand and absorb vocabulary that they might not encounter in daily conversation. It introduces them to a wider range of words, boosting their language skills.

Improved Listening Skills: Read-alouds encourage children to focus on the spoken word, helping them develop better listening skills. This enhances their ability to follow along, understand, and retain information.

Enhanced Comprehension: Listening to a story while seeing the words and pictures helps young learners improve their comprehension. They can connect the visuals with the narrative, making it easier to understand the plot and the meaning of the text.

Encourages Imagination and Creativity: Hearing stories aloud stimulates the imagination, allowing children to visualize scenes and characters. It helps them engage with the story creatively and encourages them to use their own imagination in other areas.

Fosters a Love for Reading: Regular read-aloud sessions create positive associations with books and reading. This helps children develop an intrinsic love for reading, which is essential for their lifelong learning journey.

These benefits lay the foundation for young learners to develop essential academic and social skills as they grow.

Therefore each tutoring session will have a similarities of content and at the same time different presentation approaches to keep each learner's interest.

Learning Goals
