Reading Comprehension Strategies (One-Time)

This one-time course will introduce learners to the CUT model of analyzing texts in English, Social Studies, Math, Science, and more. the CUT model is as follows:

C - Circle key vocabulary, equations, etc
U - Underline key evidence, explanations of equations, etc
T - Talk to the Text, ask questions, make comments, make connections to past or present material, etc

I will introduce the model, demonstrate with an example text, then students will end the session with practicing it on their own. I will assign a practice text following the completion of the session. This is intended for learners who want an effective strategy to breaking down and understanding any type of academic texts! This is for all ability levels when it comes to reading - CUT is beneficial no matter your reading level.
