In this weekly ongoing class, students will have multiple opportunities to practice reading fluency as well as reading comprehension. Each week we will discuss different ways to look at the text to help us comprehend our reading. (Highlighting/Annotating, Looking at the questions first, KWL charts, reciprocal teaching, and looking/understanding vocabulary). Each week we will read different texts aloud and go over multiple comprehension strategies. The text will come from ReadWorks, NewsELA, and Carson Dellosa.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their reading fluency by having the opportunities to read aloud each week. They will also build on their comprehension by learning a variety of ways to comprehend different types of text.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
