In this one-time class, we will apply understanding of all operations related to fractions in order to solve single-step and multi-step fractions problems. Students will solve these problems through modelling and arithmetic. Learners will develop skills to determine which operation should be used to solve word problems. Learners will also learn the skills required to convert mixed numbers into improper fractions, and vice-versa, as well as reduce fractions into lowest terms. Students will have time to practice these strategies on their own and receive instant feedback! Learners should have a prior knowledge of fractions, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions.
