In this private class we will read text together as part of a balanced literacy program. Learners have different reading skills so each child is given a personal approach based on their strengths and weaknesses.

This is a private, shared reading weekly 1:1 course, very similar to my other class, "Daily Shared Reading". Shared reading is an important part of the balanced literacy approach. Set aside time in your learner's day to read text with me and practice literacy skills. I can give each child individual attention so I can work on their individual strengths and also focus on what seems to challenge them. I will be sharing the text either through my document camera or in presentation format on zoom. We will read individually and together. They will also be provided with their own worksheets and handouts (when applicable) to be distributed weekly. Topics to be covered in this course: Letter recognition Sound recognition Blending sounds CVC words Sight words Predictable sentences Sight word poems Sight word games If there is a specific area you would your learner to focus on, please send a message and we can tailor this to their pace and needs.
