Private Piano Lessons

This will be a private piano lesson.  
Music will be selected according to the student's level of ability and specific interests.  For new students, after we discuss student's present level of ability, musical background,  and favorite genres, we will pick pieces that appeal to both the young musician's learning styles and preferences.   
 
I love music and I believe there is a musician in all of us.  When I teach, I want my students to feel capable and competent at the piano.  I am also careful to recognize student effort and progress.   

Since this is an ongoing class, class activity will depend on student level of ability, preparation, and their unique and personal interest in various genres of music.  A typical class will likely include: 
1. Begin with a warm-up (e.g. scales, Hanon, Czerny, Beyer, etc.) 2-5 minutes
2. Review assigned pieces or sections, student plays assignment and asks any questions that came up while practicing
3. Study new music, either continued study on an existing piece or begin new music.

Lessons are interactive, students will play most of the time and are encouraged to ask questions. All levels of ability are welcome from absolute beginners to students studying advanced repertoire, preparing for auditions, competition, and adjudications.
