Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 4
This is a private tutoring class for elementary learners designed to be very individualized to student needs.

I am available to help with homework or specific skills at parent request.

If you are not sure exactly where your student is struggling, I will start with an assessment and develop an individualized learning plan to build your students skills and confidence.

My lessons are centered on building a foundation and understanding of math concepts by starting with manipulatives (such as virtual base ten blocks), moving to drawings as representations, and working towards using numbers and symbols.

I also use a gradual release method (I do, we do, you do) to develop independence in math skills.

My lessons are student centered and student involved. I keep things interactive and fun. My goal is that your student enjoys learning and the environment is positive. Even small successes are celebrated and mistakes are treated as learning opportunities I hope that students will grow in their confidence, as well as their skills.
