Class Experience

In this fun and interactive class, we will spend time going over the proper way to make hand shapes to represent various topic related words using American Sign Language (sports, animals, feelings, transportation, food, etc.) The first day of the week will involve learning the topic words. The following class we will spend time applying the signs from the previous class making sentences and doing various activities either together as a class or in partner groups. The best way to remember new vocabulary is to use them in practical ways and through repetition.

Learners in this class will engage in activities to practice the new signs they just learned. Activities may include partner practice, flash card-style practice, repetition, and visual cue practice.

No prior knowledge or ASL experience required, I will teach you everything you need to know to learn how to sign various fun topics using ASL!

If there is any extra time I will take requests over specific signs not covered in the class.

ASL is such a beautiful, rich language, and I have an absolute blast teaching it to others!
