#ACADEMIC This class will cover adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing positive and negative integers, with a short break in the middle.
Class experience
US Grade 6 - 7
The first half of the class will explain the two operations of addition and subtraction with both positive and negative integers.The second half of the class will explain the two operations of multiplication and division with both positive and negative integers. I will give a break between the two classes for a few minutes. If time allows, I'll cover positive and negative decimals and fractions. I teach with slide presentations where I model with examples. Students will be instructed how to apply and extend previous understandings of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to positive and negative integers using number line diagrams and other representations to solve real world and mathematical problems. If time allows, we can extend to fractions and decimals.
