Class Experience

This open drop-in class is for intermediate to advanced levels. You will need to have gone through the basics for you to feel comfortable in the class. Since it is a one-time drop in class, that means it will not progress the same way as a regular ballet class would, where you continue to build upon the previous class. The class will follow the ballet class structure: barre, center, and across the floor. I will demonstrate all the exercises and offer corrections and help. I encourage in all my classes, that students ask questions when they are ever lost or confused. I enjoy engaging with students so that they feel like they are seen and understood. I want all learners to grow and feel confident in what they are learning. This is also a good way for learners who want to try out a new ballet class or stay in dancer shape during breaks.

Hello everyone my name is Gardenia Gilbert. I teach several different styles of dance i.e ballet, contemporary, and introduction to dance, along with fitness classes. I am a professional dancer that has been working in this field since graduating with a B.S in dance in 2015. I believe that everyone can benefit from moving their bodies. Not everyone has to be an experienced dancer or athlete to want to move their bodies. 
Some of the best lessons I’ve learned were from ballet classes, that I’m still applying on my current journey in life. The lessons consist of discipline, passion, and confidence in who I am. I want my students to have fun and use whatever knowledge they gain in class on their journey.
As a special treat, some fun facts about me are that I'm currently learning French and I still love taking dance classes. You are never too old or experienced to still be considered a student.
