Phonics and Literacy Prek-K Storytime: "It's Not a Box!"

Hello! My name is Sara McIntee. I am the mom of four grown children. I love to teach elementary age learners writing, reading comprehension and phonics.  I try to structure my classes to benefit many types of learners. My professional background includes teaching elementary education for more than 20 years. I have been a substitute teacher in many different grades and settings. My preferred areas are ESL, lower elementary and preschool.  I have taught ESL classes to children in China for the past 4 years. Online learning is amazing! I truly believe this generation will become life-long learners because learning opportunities are at their fingertips. My introduction to Outschool was a first grade student last fall who told me she knew about subtraction because she had been taking Outschool classes over the summer! I believe every class should have an element of fun included. I believe in boosting a child's confidence through specific praise. The most important thing you can tell a child is "I know you can do it!" My husband and I have been married for 36 years and we enjoy travel, books and biking the beautiful trails of Northeast Iowa.
